Jesus prayed: “As You sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.”

Young Adult Mission Trip: Celebrating 10 Years July 10-20, 2020
In 2020, we will celebrate ten years of partnership with our Czech and Slovak friends through an annual summer youth camp in Kateřinice, Czechia.
There will be four intensive rehearsal days to prepare for the anniversary tour. Each day will consist of a minimum of eight rehearsals to get all the handbell teams ready for showcasing their dedication and talent. Sonorilo will join forces with Zvonky Dobré Zprávy (ZDZ - Good News Bells) and the ringers from Košariská, Slovakia, for a number of joint performances. Performances will be in towns where the ZDZ will loan handbells to encourage new groups to form.
No handbell experience, no problem. Each day will also include time for spiritual enrichment through Bible devotions and activities which allow for cross-cultural engagement and thoughtful discussions about how Jesus is at work in our lives.
This trip is for young adults, ages 22-35, who are active participants of Southminster. The cost of the trip is $1,750 per person. Young adults will have the opportunity to participate in several fundraisers and apply for a scholarship up to $500. Any additional proceeds will be allocated to support the ongoing missions in eastern Europe.
If interested, participants must complete and submit a trip application no later than Thursday, October 31, 2019. Applications are available online (click here) and in the Church Office. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due no later than Sunday, December 15, to secure your spot on the team.
Study & Sabbath Pilgrimage September 27 - October 9, 2020
An adult trip through Bavaria, Bohemia, and Moravia is planned for September 27 - October 9, 2020. The trip will include visiting a variety of sites significant to Christendom while providing time for rest and reflection. Highlights of the trip include attending Oberammergau and learning more about the reformer Jan Hus.
Oberammergau village is known for its performance of a Passion Play every ten years by the villagers. The Passion Play was first performed in 1634 as result of the villagers’ vow to perform the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ if God spared them from the effects of the bubonic plague. Over 2,000 villagers are involved in this once-a-decade performance.
Jan Hus was a key figure in the Bohemian Reformation and is considered the first church reformer seeing as he lived before Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, and John Calvin. His teachings were influential in Luther’s life, and his life was a source of inspiration for many of the Protestant Reformers.
The cost of the trip is $3,000 per person and a non-refundable deposit of $750 is due by October 15, 2019. For more information please contact Pastor Tara or Rich Pinkerton at email@example.com.
