A Christ Centered... Intentionally Missional Congregation
A Rich Tradition... A Transforming Future
Welcome to the South Hills Food Pantry
What We Do and Who We Are
Our mission is to provide food to people in the South Hills requiring the services of a food pantry but who have limited mobility or are without transportation. We deliver right to the door! Sponsored by Southminster Presbyterian Church and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Food Pantry is completely staffed and run by volunteers. It is fully supported by donations of food and monetary gifts from our congregation and from a variety of community organizations. Among those who have supported the Food Pantry are Dormont AARP, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon Newcomers Club, South Fayette Middle School, Keystone Oaks, and the Boy Scouts.

Helping at the Food Pantry
The old adage “Many hands make light work” surely applies here. We are truly grateful to our dedicated volunteers who ensure the success of the Food Pantry. If you’d like to join us, volunteer assignments include:
  • Filling the grocery bags
  • Delivering groceries by car
  • Listening to voice mail messages
  • Stocking the pantry shelves
  • Shopping and/or picking up groceries at the store
  • Writing thank you notes to pantry donors

Donating to the Food Pantry
There are many ways for individuals, families, and organizations to support us. The Food Pantry accepts gifts of nonperishable foods as well as monetary donations. Some ways to help include:
  • Organizing a food collection.
  • Donating nonperishable foods. Click here to view the current list of requested items.
  • Providing funds for the purchase of fresh foods. Please make checks payable to Southminster Presbyterian Church and note SHFP on the memo line.
We invite community organizations to partner with us. For more information on how your organization might help out, email Bob Brown at
