Our student ministries at Southminster Presbyterian Church invite middle school and high school students into lifegiving Christian community. Together, we seek to follow Christ, to know and love God, to serve our community, and to use the gifts the Holy Spirit has given us. During middle school and high school, we help students:
-
Understand and respond to the Gospel in their daily lives
-
Discover and grow in the gifts God has given them
-
Make deep connections with peers and caring adults in the church
-
Participate in mission for the good of our neighbors and the world
-
Enter young adulthood with hope and purpose, secure in the love of Christ

Youth Group (6th – 12th grade) will meet from 7 – 8:30 p.m. beginning January 8, 2023. All activities will take place in the Youth Lounge and Rec Hall each Sunday.
2022-2023: Transformed Nonconformists
The theme we will explore in youth group this year comes from Romans 12:2 (CEB)
Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached a sermon in 1954 urging his congregation to live life as Transformed Nonconformists. We will dive into what that may mean for us in 2022. What are the patterns of the world we live in? What does it take to be transformed? What is God’s will for us—now, in the future? What about when we get off track?
We’ll learn how about our faith as a way of life. One that God is calling us to live out here and now. |

Sunday mornings at 10:10am in the Youth Lounge
Grab a donut and some coffee (or hot chocolate) and take a closer look at Scripture. This school year, Youth Café will be a crash course of what the Bible is, how to read it, and why we care so much about what it has to say. Bring your questions and curiosity—and don’t be surprised if you encounter some not-safe-for-Sunday-School material. |
