It is time for the 2016-2017 choir year to begin, and we have decided to make some changes with the hopes that we may allow more children to have a chance to participate in praising God through song. This year, we are alternating practice times between Crossings and the 11 a.m. Celebration of Worship. It is our hope that children whose families worship at either hour will be able to take part in the choirs.
Children’s Choir is open to all children in grades 1—5. The Middle School Choir will be for kids in grades 6—8. (Those kids are also encouraged to be “teen helpers” for the Children’s Choir.) Even if your child has never been in the choir before, we hope he or she will give it a try this year. We will be singing on the first Sunday of each month. We will also lead worship at the 5 p.m. Christmas Eve Worship with our traditional Christmas Eve musical.
Our first practice will be held on Sunday, August 28, at 9 a.m. in RH13.
Choir director Betsy Charles and I are looking forward to a very special year with our Southminster singers!
