Hi! My name is
Debbie Evanovich …. The reverend Deborah Lee Evanovich if
you want to be formal … but I really am not a person who
stands on formalities! Kids call me Pastor Debbie and everyone else
… just Debbie.
I am one of the Pastoral Care Associates here at SPC … and I
love my job … I think I have been training for this position
my whole life … just talking to people of all ages and
getting to know them and about their lives … their joys and
their struggles. I am here to talk to you … about anything
that is important to you … just stop into my office
… or give me a call on the phone and we can get together
… at your place … or my office … or
out for coffee or food … one of my favorite places to meet!
I work with Frank Stricklen to prepare the Crossings worship
celebration each Sunday … he is music … and I am
devotions and details. Crossings is a wonderful alternative worship
focused on music, scripture and prayer. Join us any Sunday beginning at
8:50am in the Fellowship Hall.
Also, I am the staff liaison to the Board of Deacons. Each month, I
share a timely devotion with the members to begin each meeting and
then, listen and affirm as they review the many responsibilities of
their group. They are a talented bunch of men and women serving the
church with a special ministry.
A new ministry at SPC … the Stephen Series … also
falls under my umbrella. Stephen ministers are trained to provide
one-on-one confidential support for individuals who are going through
struggles or changes in their lives and need a compassionate listener.
Lots of people find themselves in such a position in this world where
everyone is busy with their own focus. Give me a call … I
can match you with a perfect partner to handle the stress and tension
of life’s difficulties.
Personals about me … I am married, have three adult
children, and have lived in the Bethel Park area for most of my life. I
am a 1994 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained
at John McMillan Church, Bethel Park in March 1995. I am glad to be
here … and I hope we get an opportunity to share stories
very soon!!
