Windy Ridge Retreat Center Windy Ridge is
Southminster's place in the country. It can be yours, too.
Windy Ridge is a year-round facility in Greene
County, PA, southwest of Pittsburgh (Map
& Directions). It has a spacious, winterized lodge
and acres of woodlands and fields. Windy Ridge is set apart to
encourage spiritual growth, fellowship, and pursuit of active ministry,
in keeping with Biblical and Church traditions that affirm the value of
retreats for personal renewal.
Windy Ridge is
available for one group's use at a time; this lets groups focus on
their programs free of distraction. Offered at attractive rates, Windy
Ridge is well suited for family reunions and group events as well.
The lodge at Windy Ridge includes large living
and dining areas, a game room, and an outdoor deck with commanding
view. Sleeping bunks hold forty-five people in six bedrooms, each with
bathroom and shower. Full access to a commercial-grade kitchen is
included, and on-site catering is also available.
Windy Ridge's 310 acres include miles of wooded
trails, a pond, baseball field, setups for basketball, horseshoes,
tetherball and volleyball, an outdoor chapel, and a large campfire
circle.
Several attractions are also close by. A
brief drive down the road, Ryerson Station State Park offers many
outdoor activities, including free summer swimming pool access. Other
points of interest include Waynesburg College, covered bridges, and, in
summer, both the Pioneer Festival and the popular Jacktown Fair
(holding claim as the oldest ongoing fair in the USA).
For church groups, service organizations, and
families alike, Windy Ridge is attractive and affordable. We offer
special rates, too, for weekdays, weeklong stays, extended camp
programs, and for groups of over 45 people. Please reach us at
Southminster Church (phone 412.343.8900; fax 412.343.1930) to learn
more about rates and availability.
We look forward
to helping you make Windy Ridge your place in the country, too.
