SOUTHMINSTER
YOUTH MISSION TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY!
WHAT: Our 2008 Summer Mission Trip will allow us
to participate in the ministry of Jesus Christ
while we enjoy fun & fellowship in New York City.
WHEN: Sunday,
June 15th through June 22nd, 2008!
WHY:
Because God calls Christians to share our faith and to grow together in
love.
MISSION:Our mission
work will take place at the New York School of Urban
Ministry in Queens, New York. This will also be our home for the week.
The Mission Focus is to set out into New York City in teams for
ministries ranging from faith sharing, group prayer activities and to
helping out with homeless outreaches for
three days.
FELLOWSHIP: Another
important part of our trip will be fellowship. We will get to
know each other by sharing meals, sharing space, sharing in creating
worship experiences for our group and for our hosts and sharing stories
of the way God chooses to use each of us to minister to a wide variety
of people in New York.
FUN: Some
of the highlights of our fun in New York will include a tour of New
York City, seeing the Broadway Musical production of Wicked and going to an afternoon Yankees game.
ABOUT OUR
HOSTS: New York School of Urban Ministry.
NYSUM is an interdenominational school for people with a
heart for urban ministry. Through a combination of urban training,
onsite practical ministry and actually living in a city neighborhood,
we aim to train you to reach people in cities around the world for
Christ.
THE DETAILS:
Space is limited and we are taking applications of mature
youth only for the trip. We will be expecting our youth to be
dedicated to the mission of Jesus Christ and therefore we are requiring
that all participants attend one Senior High Youth Group meeting a
month, rom January to June, for planning, team building, Bible
Study, & prayer.
